What stays on your device
Your menu, forecasts, reconcile history, catalog overrides, and unit-system preference are stored in IndexedDB in your browser. We never see this data unless you sign in to cloud backup. Uninstalling the app or clearing your browser’s site data erases it on that device permanently.
If you sign in to cloud backup
Signing in is optional and only affects backup. The app works identically either way.
- Identity: Supabase Auth handles authentication using an email one-time code and hosts the Postgres database for backed-up data. We receive your account identifier and email address. We never see a password.
- Backed-up data: Your menu, forecasts, reconcile history, and catalog overrides are mirrored to our database and tagged to your account identifier.
- Billing: Cloud backup is a $4.99/month subscription processed by Stripe. Stripe handles card details directly. We retain only the customer ID, subscription ID, and subscription status needed to administer backup.
Hosting
The app is served by Vercel. Cloud backup runs through Vercel serverless functions connected to the database described above. These providers process data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.
What we don’t do
No analytics or tracking scripts. No advertising. No selling or sharing your data with third parties for marketing. Your menu is yours.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time without losing local data. To have backed-up data deleted, email support@cheflifemedia.com. See our Data Retention Policy for how long data is kept.
Children
AlaCarteOS is a professional kitchen tool and is not directed at, or knowingly used by, children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update the effective date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the update.
